What Are Crops in Grow a Garden?
Crops are the beating heart of Grow a Garden, giving players the main way to earn coins, discover mutations, and show off their gardening progress. Each plant begins its journey from a tiny seed and can grow into a wide range of fruits, flowers, and fantasy plants with unique looks and values.
Why Crops Matter in Your Garden
Once mature, crops can be harvested for profit, traded with others, or used to feed pets. With careful management, your garden becomes both a business and a creative collection of rare plants.
How to Obtain Seeds
Seeds are the key to expanding your garden. They can be found in a variety of ways:
Tom’s or Sam’s Shop
Regular and seasonal stock refreshed throughout the day.
Seed Packs
Loot-style items that contain random or event-limited crops.
Pets
Some pets can dig up or reward players with special seeds.
Events
Seasonal or update events introduce exclusive crops and mutations.
Player Trading
Exchange crops and seeds with others to build your dream garden.
Planting a seed begins the growth cycle from sprout to bloom and with upgrades, fertilizers, and weather bonuses, you can speed up their development.
Types of Crops
Every plant in the game fits into one of two main categories based on how it behaves when harvested.
Single-Harvest Crops
These crops give a one-time yield when fully grown and are removed once collected.
Typical examples include Carrots, Bamboo, and Mushrooms. Because they disappear after harvesting, they’re great for quick profits but require replanting.
Multi-Harvest Crops
These crops act like renewable plants — they stay in your garden and produce fruits or blooms repeatedly.
Examples: Dragon Fruit, Ember Lily, and Mango Tree. Perfect for long-term farmers looking to keep their garden productive without constant replanting.
Growth and Selling
Each crop grows at its own pace, determined by its growth time, rarity, and mutation potential.
When crops reach full maturity, players can sell them to Steven’s Stand for coins, gift them to friends, or use them for crafting recipes.
Crops Trivia
The Bone Blossom, Maple Resin, and Crimson Thorn are currently the only crops in the Transcendent tier.
Carrot and Turnip remain among the simplest crops, perfect for beginners.
Certain seeds such as Glowshroom and Paradise Petal glow during the night cycle.
Venus Vine was once the rarest obtainable crop, available with less than a 0.02% chance from special seed packs.
Some crops like Zen Rocks and Blue Lollipop are entirely fictional creations, found only in Grow a Garden.
