Grow a Garden Mutations
Some plants react to unique weather or sprays, transforming into mutated crops with new designs and much higher sell values.
Mutations are the key to rare collections — every mutated plant has a distinctive glow or trait, and some can only be obtained during certain in-game events.
Common mutation types include:
Mutations Overview
Mutations are rare visual and functional upgrades that change how crops and pets look and perform. They not only make your garden more colorful but also boost your earnings, rarity, and gameplay value.
These transformations can occur naturally, through pets, gears, weather effects, or special seeds like the Golden Egg or Super Seed. While some are easy to obtain, others are extremely rare or even admin-exclusive, making them some of the most sought-after features in the game.
Crop Mutations Overview
Crop Mutations alter a plant’s appearance and value, often multiplying its Sheckles reward or adding a unique glow or texture.
They are usually triggered by:
- Pets that grant mutation effects
- Weather events such as Bloodmoon or Meteor Shower
- Mutation Sprays or special Seeds
- Admin or event commands
Each mutation type gives the crop a special look — from fiery hues to crystal-like growths — while improving its sell price or bonus yield.
Note:
Pets that can apply any mutation (like Fennec Fox, Spinosaurus, or Tiger) are not counted toward the standard mutation pool. Crops affected only by these pets remain unobtainable in normal gameplay.
List of Crop Mutations
| Mutation | Trigger Source | Effect |
|---|---|---|
Bloodlit | Bloodmoon Event | Increases crop value and gives a red glow |
Celestial | Meteor Shower | Adds star particles and boosts growth rate |
Windstruck | Windy Weather | Grants windy visual and faster yield |
Twisted | Tornado | Adds spiral animation, increases rarity |
Aurora | Aurora Borealis | Adds light gradient and growth speed bonus |
Sundried | Heat Wave | Bright, sun-baked texture with value boost |
More mutations are added through seasonal events or special pets.
Pet Mutations Overview
Pet Mutations are a late-game feature introduced in Update 1.14.0, letting players evolve their pets into stronger, rarer forms with unique powers.
To mutate a pet, players use the Mutation Machine near the Egg Shop.
