Overview

The Sugar Apple is a multi-harvest prismatic crop introduced in Update 1.10.0, also known as the Crafting Update. Known for its distinctive appearance and high in-game value, the Sugar Apple is one of the most sought-after prismatic crops for dedicated Grow a Garden players.

Appearance

The Sugar Apple tree features a slim, vine-like structure, similar to Grapes or Peppers. At the ends of its stems are lamp-shaped pods, from which the fruits grow.

Each Sugar Apple fruit has an elongated oval shape with a green-to-yellow gradient, creating a natural color transition from bottom to top. Its surface is bumpy, resembling a pinecone, and it’s attached by a brown stem with a leaf, reminiscent of a classic “teacher’s apple.”

Unlike most crops that use the Stud surface, the Sugar Apple uses the Weld surface, adding a subtle uniqueness to its design.

A fully matured Sugar Apple plant typically produces around eight fruits on average when grown to normal size.

How to Obtain

Players can get the Sugar Apple seed through several methods in Grow a Garden:
  • 0.34% chance to appear in the Seed Shop, purchasable for 25,000,000 Sheckles or 819 Robux.
  • Earned via Lucky Harvests.
  • Can be stolen by a Red Fox.
  • Occasionally dropped by a Snail during harvest.
  • Very rarely dug up by a Dog, Golden Lab, or Shiba Inu.
  • Found in the Silver Prismatic Seed Pack.
  • Collected during Seed Rain events.
  • Sometimes appears in Seed Shop Deals for 20,000,000.

Sugar Apple Trivia & Fun Facts

  • One of four Apple-type plants introduced to the game.
  • Collecting a golden Sugar Apple grants players the “God Apple!” badge.
  • The crop is inspired by the real-life Annona Squamosa—commonly known as custard apple, sweetsop, or sugar apple.
  • Has a 1% chance to become “ripe”, giving it a purplish hue purely cosmetic in nature and does not affect the selling price.
  • Ranked as the 9th most expensive crop, valued at 25,000,000, sitting below Burning Bud, Giant Pinecone, Elder Strawberry, Romanesco, Kniphofia, Moon Mango, Maple Resin, and Crimson Thorn.
  • With most mutations, the Sugar Apple gains a color gradient, enhancing its visual appeal.
  • The only fruit in the game capable of turning ripe.
  • The first prismatic crop ever featured in the official Roblox Grow a Garden thumbnails.
  • Part of the 10 prismatic seeds group, which includes Beanstalk, Ember Lily, Burning Bud, Giant Pinecone, Romanesco, Elder Strawberry, Elephant Ears, Tranquil Bloom, Mangrove, and Wispwing.
  • On July 18, the Sugar Apple appeared four times in stock within five and a half hours — an extremely rare event with odds around 1 in 13,275.
  • On September 10, it was stocked twice in one day, alternating between other prismatics like Giant Pinecone, Beanstalk, and no-prismatic restocks — with the exact odds still unknown.
  • A known visual glitch can make an unripe Sugar Apple appear harvestable before it actually is.
