Overview
The Dilophosaurus is a Mythical pet introduced in the Prehistoric Event. It could be obtained from the Primal Egg or Premium Primal Egg, both offering a 3% hatch chance. Known for its iconic frilled neck, the Dilophosaurus uses its venomous spit to boost nearby pets through cooldown reduction or experience gain.
Appearance
This prehistoric reptile features green scales, stands upright on two legs, and has vibrant orange frills around its neck. When active, it spreads its frills wide and spits venom, creating a bright, dynamic animation inspired by its popular depiction in movies.
Traits
- Frilled Reptile: Every ~13 minutes and 53 seconds, the Dilophosaurus opens its frills and spits venom that spreads to ~3 other pets (capped at 5). Each affected pet receives one of two possible effects: Cooldown reduction: Advances ability cooldown by 40.82 seconds, or Experience boost: Grants 570.48 XP. Medium Toy buffs include: Cooldown: −170 seconds, Spread: +0.6 pets, Time Advanced: +8 seconds, XP Gain: +100.02 XP. Small Toys provide half of these bonuses. The minimum cooldown is 1 minute.
How to Obtain
- The Dilophosaurus could be hatched from the Primal Egg or the Premium Primal Egg, both with a 3% chance. It was only available during the Prehistoric Event.
Dilophosaurus Trivia & Fun Facts
- A known bug in Update 1.14.0 caused the Dilophosaurus to repeatedly play its animation when no other pets were affected. It could be fixed by re-equipping the pet.
- Inspired by the Jurassic Park interpretation of the Dilophosaurus.
- On July 26, 2025, the pet was significantly nerfed, reducing venom spread to a maximum of 5 pets (previously over 10).
