Overview
The Seed Stages Event arrived with Update 1.25.0, introducing the first system that let seeds evolve through multiple growth levels. During this limited event running from September 27 to October 4 players could grow special plants that changed form and stats as they progressed, bringing a new layer of farming strategy to Grow a Garden.
Event Mechanics
Evolving Seeds
Some seeds gained the ability to transform into stronger versions after reaching certain growth milestones. These evolving plants, known as Evo Plants, behaved differently from standard crops and required more attention to reach their final stage.
Caring for Evo Plants
Evo Plants track three key attributes that affect their performance:
Plant Health
Affects overall growth stability. Keeping health high helps it grow steadily. Feed fruits or food items regularly.
Growth Rate
Controls how quickly new stages appear. Use watering tools or sprinklers.
Size Multiplier
Determines the final fruit size. Feed produce or crafted foods to enlarge results.
Mutations from one stage can occasionally carry over when the plant evolves, giving each run a bit of randomness.
How to Support Evo Plants
| Stat | What It Does | How Players Boost It |
|---|---|---|
| Plant Health | Affects overall growth stability. | Feed fruits or food items regularly. |
| Growth Rate | Controls how quickly new stages appear. | Use watering tools or sprinklers. |
| Size Multiplier | Determines the final fruit size. | Feed produce or crafted foods to enlarge results. |
Trivia
- The event NPC, Samuel, resembles Sam, but with a more muscular design.
- Behind Samuel’s shop, six plants can be seen on the left wall — two with Gold Mutations and one with a Silver Mutation.
- The center wall displays several rare seeds, including Dragon Fruit, Spiked Mango, Sakura Bush, Elder Strawberry, Twisted Tangle, Tranquil Bloom, Ackee, and Blood Banana.
- The right wall shows various Seed Packs such as the Basic, Flower, and Crafters packs, along with a Trowel and Dragon Fruit Seed.
- At launch, players were required to contribute to a Fall Bloom to restock the shop — this was patched shortly after.
- This was the first event to feature a crop of every rarity.
- The Event Shop restocked at the same time as the Seed and Gear stands.
- Initially, players had to evolve Evo Plants one at a time, but later updates added an Evolve All option for faster progress.
- As of October 11th, 2025, this remains one of the two shortest events in the game, tied with the Chubby Chipmunk Event.
